Some nights linger in our hearts long after the final curtain falls, and Music-Go Round was undoubtedly one of those magical evenings. From the captivating vocal talent of soprano Amira Willighagen to the smiling faces of the children giving their all on stage to the heartwarming encore, the show was a celebration of talent, artistry, and connection.
Each performance and song brought something unique to the stage. Local artist Neal Prinsloo mesmerised us with his soulful renditions, while the Sound of Music and Mary Poppins ensembles had the crowd on their feet, clapping and swaying to the rhythm. The synchronisation of the choir’s vocals along with Amira’s beautiful voice, left everyone in awe.

The energy in the room was palpable. The audience was a sea of smiles, laughter, and even a few tears as the music moved through the crowd. Seeing people sing along and cheer with such passion reminded us of the profound power of live music.
Of course, a show like this doesn’t happen overnight. The incredible tech crew at Behold Productions ensured seamless sound and playback during the rehearsals. The profound talent of our own Musicality Artistic Director, Netanja Brink, shone through as she arranged, taught, and directed all of the music for the choir. The wonderful Lorette du Toit brought her expertise to the piano, while the agile and entertaining choreographer Anro Janse van Rensburg added a lively dynamic to the performances.
The passionate children and adults of the choir gave their all, with staff from Musicality Music Education also playing an active role. Finally, the lighting and sound production team brought the vision to life with their meticulous work. Every detail was thoughtfully orchestrated to create a truly unforgettable experience.

We deeply appreciate the invaluable efforts of the project and stage managers, Frieda Brand and Fincent Willighagen, as well as the remarkable dedication of the other members of the Gelukskinders Foundation. Their dedication ensured that everyone was well-dressed, well-fed, and in high spirits, ready to perform before the eager audience. Adding to the magic of the evening were the Ikalafeng Dancers from Ikageng, whose talent, passion, and captivating drumming brought an extra layer of enchantment to the experience.
The cast and crew had the privilege of participating in a brief workshop on breathing techniques and vocal warm-ups, led by the exceptional Prof Eva Widen and Dr Anna Backman Bister. They were also guided by the renowned Prof Santisa Viljoen from the Mookodi Music Foundation, whose expertise left a lasting impression on everyone involved.

We’re beyond grateful to everyone who made this event possible—our amazing performers, the tireless crew, and especially the audience who joined us. To those not mentioned by name (we’re looking at you CW Burger, Margriet Aucamp, Eloïse Swanepoel, Scholtzia Creations, Radical Consultancy and anyone we missed), we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Nights like these remind us why we do what we do: to create moments of joy and connection that bring people together with music!

As the echoes of Music-Go Round fade, they leave behind a beautiful memory and a spark of inspiration for the future.
Until the next show, let’s keep the music alive in our hearts!
